EvolveSphere ("we") operates https://sphere.byoviral.com. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. Questions? See the contact page.

What we collect

  • Account data: your name (optional) and email address when you register, plus a salted, hashed password. We never store plaintext passwords.
  • Photos and metadata: the photos you upload, the location you type or confirm, and — when present and only with your participation in the upload — EXIF GPS coordinates read from the photo to place the memory on the map. Converted/processed versions of your photo are stored on our servers.
  • Engagement signals: anonymous events such as views, echoes (likes), and shares, tied to a random visitor identifier rather than your identity.
  • Technical data: standard server logs (IP address, user agent) kept briefly for security and abuse prevention.

How we use it

  • To run the service: placing memories on the map, generating AI reflections from your photo, computing evolution scores, and showing public EvolvePages.
  • AI processing: uploaded photos are analyzed by third-party AI vision providers (such as Google Gemini, Ollama Cloud, or Cloudflare Workers AI) solely to generate the reflection, mood, and place recognition. Photos are sent for analysis and are not used by us to train models.
  • Moderation: an automated safety check reviews each memory before it is published publicly.
  • Aggregated statistics: counts like "memories woven this week" use anonymized, aggregated data.

Public content

  • Memories you publish are public by design: the photo, the AI reflection, the place name, and approximate coordinates appear on a public, search-indexable page. Do not upload photos you want to keep private.
  • Curated landmark pages use openly licensed (Creative Commons) photography with attribution and a link to the source and license.

Cookies and analytics

  • We use a session cookie to keep you signed in (essential, httpOnly).
  • We use StatCounter for simple, privacy-light visit counting.
  • If advertising (such as Google AdSense) is introduced, ad partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve and measure ads; where required (for example in the EEA/UK), you will be asked for consent via a consent banner before any advertising cookies are set.

Sharing

  • We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the processors needed to run the service: hosting, the AI providers named above, geocoding (OpenStreetMap Nominatim receives the coordinates or place text being resolved), and analytics.

Retention and your rights

  • You can edit or delete your memories from your dashboard, and you may request full account deletion at any time.
  • Depending on your location (GDPR, CCPA and similar laws), you have rights to access, correct, export, delete, or object to processing of your personal data.
  • To exercise any right, email [email protected] from the address connected to your account. We respond within 30 days.

Children

  • EvolveSphere is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has uploaded content, contact us and we will remove it.

Changes

  • We will update this policy as the service evolves and adjust the "last updated" date below. Material changes will be announced on the site.
