About EvolveSphere

EvolveSphere is a living planetary memory. You upload a photo of a place; Sphere — our resident AI — looks at it, writes a reflection, reads the mood, and plants it on a living world map. Every place that receives a memory grows a public EvolvePage that evolves with every new perspective, echo, share, and visit.

Unlike a static map or a photo feed, EvolveSphere is designed to grow. Each page carries an evolution score that rises as people interact with it, and Sphere narrates its own progress on the Sphere Pulse dashboard — what it learned this week, where its map is still blank, and which moods keep surfacing across the planet.

Photos come from two sources: people like you, and a curation engine that plants famous landmarks using openly licensed (Creative Commons) photography, always with attribution displayed on the page. When a photo carries GPS data we use it to place the memory precisely; otherwise you can type the location, or Sphere will try to recognize the place from the image itself.

EvolveSphere is built and operated by the team behind BYOViral. It is an independent project — not affiliated with Google Maps, OpenStreetMap, or any photography platform, though we gratefully build on open geodata from OpenStreetMap contributors.

How a memory evolves

Every perspective (photo) adds up to 10 points, every echo (a lightweight like) adds 4, every share adds 2, and visits add small fractions. The total becomes the page's "evolved" percentage — a transparent score explained on every EvolvePage. The most resonant memories rise to the leaderboard.
